Plant description
Who could resist these deliciously rich chocolatey flowers that are beautifully set off by the lush foliage. Used to great effect at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016, the warm flowers work particularly well in copper toned planting schemes. Recently introduced and a more compact form than many other baptisias, this false indigo is perfect for a well-drained border or a dry, sunny bank as it will become drought tolerant once well established. Resist the temptation to cut the plant back in autumn as the seed-pods and slender stems look wonderful frosted in the winter garden.
