Plant description
A bushy, deciduous fruiting cherry tree with fragrant white flowers in late spring, followed by large, sweet, yellow cherries flushed with red when ripe. This traditional ‘white cherry’ variety produces tangy, firm-fleshed, high-quality fruit with pale golden flesh, making it an excellent choice for cottage and urban gardens. ‘Bigarreau Napoléon’ requires a pollination partner such as ‘Bigarreau Burlat’ to produce a crop from late July through August.
Pollination Information: Not self-fertile, this cherry requires another variety of cherry nearby. Ideally this should come from the same pollination group 4, however it is possible to use one from group 3 as well.
