Plant description
Regarded by many to be one of the best dessert pears, it produces medium to large, juicy fruits with tender flesh that are ready to harvest from early autumn. This is a hardy cultivar that has some resistance to scab.
Garden care: Pears naturally shed a small quantity of the developing fruits in midsummer. After this has occurred thin out the remaining pears, leaving one pear per cluster. Add a high-nitrogen feed in spring. Double U cordons should be supported by a network of wires, which will support the branches as the fruits develop and help maintain the overall shape of the plants.
