Plant description
A chance discovery by LC Edwards around 1930, ‘Edwards’, a self-fertile plum, boasts very large blue-black fruits with firm and wonderfully contrasting juicy yellow flesh. When fully ripe, this plum works well as a dessert variety, with a sweet and satisfying taste, but its handsomely sized fruit is even better in preserves and pies!
Pollination information: Although self-fertile, yields will be increased if paired with a pollinating partner from another variety of plum nearby. Ideally this should come from the same pollination group 4, however it is possible to use one from group 3 as well.
