Plant description
For a sweet late-season treat, look no further than this large American variety that yields heavy harvests of sublimely flavorful reddish-purple fruit in early September. The freestone plums offer the bonus of large size coupled with richly sweet golden flesh, and when left to fully ripen on the tree, ‘Seneca’ develops superb flavour – perfect for fresh eating. In spring, the small tree unveils elegant white blossoms. Supplied grafted to the reliable and semi-vigorous St Julien A rootstock.
Pollination Information: Though partially self-fertile, this plum will produce a bigger crop if planted with another variety of plum. Ideally this should come from the same pollination group 4, however it is possible to use one from group 3 as well.
