Plant description
From mid to late summer, airy sprays of tiny, long-lasting, rich-mauve, pompom-like flowers are carried on slender dark purple stems above clumps of fern-like, grey-green leaves. ‘Hewitt’s Double’ is a much sought-after double variety of meadow rue and is perfect for adding height to a range of planting applications. The delicate flowers can be prone to wind damage so these herbaceous perennials are best grown in a sheltered spot and supported by neighbouring plants or plant supports made from natural materials (see garden care notes below).
